We’re a big, happy poetry family and you are so totally in it.
For the past 3 1/2 years, Woosh Kinaadeiyí has been providing community, empowerment, and diversity to Juneau through its open mic/slam events, workshops, and retreats. Now, we’re ready to take our events to the next level, and we want you to be a part of it.
On Friday, April 18th, 2014, Woosh Kinaadeiyí will celebrate National Poetry Month in style with its first-ever Showcase Fundraiser event. Instead of our normal monthly slam, we’re showcasing five of Juneau’s incredible talents by pairing them with the music of J.R. Rosales (Slush Not Snow, Shiver Twins) and a five-course meal at The Rookery. Due to The Rookery’s intimate size, this event is highly exclusive — only 38 tickets will be available.
In addition to admission tickets, we strongly encourage you to consider becoming a Woosh Kinaadeiyí sponsor. Like any other event, we appreciate any level of donation, but sponsorships give you the opportunity to show public support, not just for our work, but for the values of community and diversity Woosh Kinaadeiyí has fostered in a town we all love. Proceeds from this event help us secure venues and pay for printing, outreach, music, and contract services. We are currently completely community-funded and we are grateful Juneau’s continued support.
Information about tickets and sponsorships can be found at the link below. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we highlight the artists who promise to make this event one to remember.
